Hallo 2014!

As always our year starts of with a bit of a bang (or flop depending on the intensity of celebrations from the night before) as it is Daddy's birthday!

Mylo is becoming a brilliant little helper in the kitchen and is very effective at saving on the washing up!

Felix was a bit grumpy that he will have to wait for his turn to lick the spoon!

Although this is a post about 2014 it must also incorporate "new beginnings" as in the last week of 2013  Granny and Grandpa got the keys to their new home!

Felix and I were lucky enough to share the occasion with them and we all went out to Pizza Hut afterwards to celebrate.

We had  long drive ahead so it was essential that Felix was all snuggled up

Although 10 minutes into the journey a minor eruption meant an in car nappy change!

The boys continue to be besotted with each other

They are after all the most adorable boys on the planet :-)

We had a LOVELY trip to see the night lights at Kew with the Rutherfords. Here is Anna with Rupert who is 2 weeks older than Felix

It was a magical, mesmerizing visit

(Thank you to Don for taking the gorgeous pics of Mylo above x)

We had a fabulous impromtu visit to Auntie Lesley

and Mylo and Mummy got to have some lovely  cafe dates after weekly visits to the Osteopath for Felix
........from which he recovered rather well!

Being with the boys full time has meant that we can make the most of play time and dress up time!

What a scary Gruffalo!

Fabulous festivities

It's that time of year where everything seems to sparkle and hum and the bigger we get as a family the more festive we seem to feel!

Our trusty potted Christmas tree died when we moved houses so this year we got to choose a real one from Ealing Common :-)

Mylo was big enough this year to help with the decorating and to get into the Christmas spirit.

Felix got into the Christmas spirit too with lots of "wassup y'all's" all around

We were delighted to have Seona staying from NZ. Mylo gave her some of his best performances and they bonded over stories and sing alongs :-)

We had a WONDERFUL visit to Buxton to see Ed, Ali, Archie and Toby

As well as riding on Thomas the boys got to see some reindeer!

and climb a pirate ship

and ride a flying fox!

This was the first time that Felix got to meet Auntie Ali and the cousins so it was extra special

And Felix found a perfect nap time partner

We had a fabulous family day at the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park

Santa's sleigh was almost too much excitement for mummy!

Mylo mastered the art of eating a pretzel

With some help from Daddy of course!

 We tackled ferocious polar bears

And a magical ice kingdom

Felix became an expert at the art of snuggling

Mylo was very patient waiting to pick up some passengers ....

but then he decided that he would have much more fun on his own!

We discovered "Santa's marching band" which (thank goodness) comes out of the box for approximately 10 days each year

it is rather annoying  transfixing

Mylo and Felix were able to meet Father Christmas and Mylo said he would like Pizza for Christmas!

We baked lots of mince pies

And counted down the days on the advent calender we made

And put the final touches on our Christmas cake which despite an epic near fail was actually rather delicious :-)

And after sprinkling reindeer food on the back lawn we felt pretty confident that Father Christmas would find his way to our home and fill the boys stockings with lovely surprises because boy oh boy have they been good!

"not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse"

CHRISTMAS IS HERE!!!

Our Christmas day began with Granny and Grandpa flying in from the USA! It was VERY exciting, we were all overjoyed to have them.

We were also lucky to have Uncle Andy join us!

We spent a lot of time eating..........

and sleeping...

and giggling

 and snuggling

and sharing

This is an amazing pressie that Uncle Andy made Felix. It is his name cut through layers of a newspaper from his birthday!!! Felix was just exhausted from the excitement of it all!

Mylo got some new winter warmies and tested them out at the local sandpit with Uncle Andy

And as Mummy had enjoyed a few too many glasses of bubbles, Felix was very considerate in drinking from a bottle. Hoorah!
